Climate Change

Do you want to help rural communities cope with climate change? Join us in our CR4SD component, where we work on various activities to make them more resilient and sustainable. Some of our activities are:

  •  Helping local communities plan their development with climate adaptation measures in mind. We do this by organizing awareness events, training sessions, and wall paintings that show them how to adapt to changing climate conditions.
  •  Improving water resource management through a participatory approach. We teach them how to manage their water resources effectively and efficiently, using hands-on training, participatory exercises, and displays of water resource plans.
  • Empowering local functionaries to support water resource development and management. We train them on the skills and knowledge they need to guide and assist their communities in water resource issues.
  • Spreading awareness of climate-smart agriculture and balanced nutrition. We educate them on the principles and practices of climate-smart agriculture and balanced nutrition, using training sessions, exposure programs, workshops, demonstrations, and farmer field schools.
  • Encouraging Reliance Nutrition Gardens in households and public places. We promote these gardens as a way to diversify and improve their food supply and nutrition outcomes. These gardens also serve as demonstration sites for others to replicate.

Sustainable agriculture and agriculture value chain development

In our pursuit of Integrated Value Chain Development, we’ve achieved remarkable progress in elevating agricultural practices and fostering sustainable productivity. We’ve expanded the adoption of Improved Production Practices and Good Agricultural Technologies, coupled with innovative Digital Outreach Programs on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). Our efforts extend to enhancing productivity by capacitating functionaries with the right skills and knowledge. We’re also deeply committed to guiding and mentoring Farmer Collectives, helping them thrive as empowered agricultural communities. Furthermore, we’re facilitating seamless access to essential services for producers through their collaboration with these vibrant Farmer Collectives. Together, we’re ushering in a new era of holistic and sustainable agricultural growth.

With focus on benefit to farming community through fair pricing and marketing of their produce by establishing their own crop based farmer producer organization, we promoted five farmer producer organizations in Koppal & Ballari Districts under NABARD-Producer organization fund. 5 FPOs are registered and have completed 3 years and 5 FPOs have been sanctioned. FPOs are promoted to improve the productivity of lead crops by adopting appropriate technology. Training, demonstration and collective marketing system.
