Shidaganahalli TDF Project

Integrated Tribal Development Project supported by NABARD is being implemented in 5 villages (Chikkabommanahal, Hiresulikeri, Chikkasulikeri, Hanamanahalli & Shidaganahalli) of Koppal Taluk and district during 2022-23 to 2026-27. The project aims to improve the socio-economic and living standards of schedule tribe community over a period of 5 years. 500 tribal families including 63 landless families are targeted under this project through various land based & non land-based interventions.

Aim : The project aims to improving socio-economic status of tribal families through their active participation in orchard development and livelihood interventions with their special interest and involvement in the project.

Highlights : Project activities like Mango, Lemon, Forestry (WADI) development, soil conservation, water resource development, community health and sanitation, women empowerment, livelihood interventions, sustainable agriculture and community capacity building activities are taken up in all project villages.

Abbigeri Tanda Watershed Project

Abbigeri Tanda watershed is located in Koppal taluk & district and it has total area of about 833.87 ha covering 4 villages of 279 families and 70 landless

Coverage : Watershed activities have been taken in capacity Building Phase area of 100.09 ha and full implementation area 733.87 ha , total treatable area is 833.87 ha covering 4 villages

Farm bunds are constructed across the slope based on land slope and soil type and bunds covered with grass seeds for fodder production and bund stabilization.
Training, capacity building, crop demonstration, livelihood activities for poor and landless, development village knowledge center and seed & fodder bank activities are planned under the project.
Waste weirs are created at suitable location to dispose surplus runoff water from lands using locally available boulders.

Farm ponds are built to harvest excess surface runoff and water stored in the pond is used for protective irrigation for plantation. Boulder bunds are constructed in steep slope where the soil bund is not suitable to with stand the runoff water, locally available boulders are used for boulder bund construction.
Forestry plants are planted on bunds and farm ponds in CBP area with different varieties of forestry plants such as fodder, timber, fire wood and biomass yielding species etc. Horticulture plants are provided to each farmer. Grass seeds are sown on bunds and farm ponds as cover crop on bunds for stabilization of bund.
Along with soil and water conservation measures, climate proofing interventions like drip irrigation, borewell recharge, soil health improvement activities like green manure crops, liquid manure preparation, integrated Pest & nutrient management, crop rotation inter cropping and integrated farming activities also being taken up.

Jinnapur Watershed Project

Jinnapur watershed is located in Koppal taluk & district and it has total area of about 1126.2 ha covering 4 villages of 603 families and 91 landless

Coverage : Watershed activities have been taken in capacity Building Phase area of 195.05 ha and full implementation area 931.15 ha , total treatable area is 1126.2 ha covering 4 villages

Highlights : Soil & water conservation measures, Nala Treatement, planatation of fruit and forestry plants, community development, livelihood activities for poor and landless families, climate change adoption programs and promotion of women farmers producer organization activities are implemented.

NABARD-Farmers Producer Organization Projects (FPO)

With focus on benefit to farming community through fair pricing and marketing of their produce by establishing their own crop based farmer producer organization, we promoted five farmer producer organizations in Koppal & Ballari Districts under NABARD-Producer organization fund. 5 FPOs are registered and have completed 3 years and 5 FPOs have been sanctioned. FPOs are promoted to improve the productivity of lead crops by adopting appropriate technology. Training, demonstration and collective marketing system.

1. Gavisiddeshwara Farmer Producer Organization Irakalagada, Koppal Tq & Dist : has been promoted for collective production and distributing the low prices fertilizers and seeds.
